We understand that navigating healthcare can feel overwhelming, which is why we handle all the complicated logistics so you can focus entirely on your healing. Recovery doesn't require perfection, just presence

Our Approach to Care

Our clinical approach is highly centered around addressing both your disordered eating behaviors and the co-occurring diagnoses or underlying emotional problems that fuel them. We firmly believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality support, and our facility is completely open to all communities. We are proud to provide care that is LGBTQIA+ affirming, weight-inclusive, and age-inclusive. Our highly trained staff is also versed in multiple specialty focus areas to address unique lived experiences, including postpartum support and PTSD or trauma-focused modalities.

Outpatient Programs and the Healing Timeline

We offer a structured yet flexible continuum of care to meet you exactly where you are in your recovery. Upon admission, full and intensive psychiatric evaluations are conducted to help our clinicians create a highly customizable treatment plan for your specific needs. Because all of our staff is in-house, our full clinical team, including outpatient psychiatry professionals and case managers, is readily available during the day. For clients who need a more intensive mental health focus, we also offer a separate program specifically designed for a deeper treatment model.

As a member of our community, you have access to all levels of care to ensure your plan naturally evolves as you heal:

Treatment Length and Timeline

Typically, a patient’s time with us lasts between 30 and 90 days. Individuals often stay at individual levels of care for approximately 30 to 45 days, though this duration can be shorter depending on client needs and specific insurance requirements.

Your healing journey will generally follow this structured timeline:

Week 1

Week 1 - Meet with clinical staff, discuss current issues, and develop a full clinical treatment plan while settling in and starting to build relationships with individual therapists, group therapists, and your dietitian.

Week 2-4

Week 2-4 - Identifying emotional triggers and physical behaviors that underlie disordered eating behaviors, and starting to work on the skills gained in therapy sessions.

Week 4-6

Week 4-6 - Active practicing of skills inside and outside of therapy, reporting back on how you are accomplishing the tools set in sessions, and engaging in deeper emotional or trauma work.

Week 6+

Week 6+ - Typical step down in level of care to IOP or OP, requiring fewer hours per day or per week depending on client scheduling, alongside active aftercare planning to set up for program completion.

  • Emotional And Trauma-Based Work: utilizing specific modalities such as trauma therapy, DBT, and EMDR to safely heal deep psychological wounds.
  • Physical Behavior-Based Work: applying proven therapies like CBT, dialectical behavior therapy, and ERP to actively change destructive eating routines.
  • Nutrition And Life Skills: meeting individually with a registered dietitian on a weekly basis for essential meal planning, nutrition counseling, comprehensive education, and medical monitoring.

Your Daily Experience and Individual Support

You will drive or be driven to the facility each day of your treatment schedule. The environment is carefully designed to be as friendly and stress-free as possible. Depending on your schedule, you will sit down for either group or individual sessions, making the daily structure feel much like a school day. The capacity of our program is intentionally small, and our staff’s priority is helping you make connections and friendships within our community. Within a couple of days of arrival, you will start to make connections, so showing up daily will not be nearly as scary as it might seem.

Preparing for treatment simply requires clearing your schedule and arriving with an open mind. Since this is an outpatient facility, there is no packing list or requirements of items to buy or bring. You do not need any formal diagnosis or any outside assessments prior to starting. All you truly need is the willingness to give yourself a real chance to get help. Because recovery is hard work, taking care of yourself during the treatment process is vital, and you will engage in periodic self-assessments so our clinical team can adjust your care plan as you grow.

Resources for Family Support

Eating disorders impact the whole family, and caregivers need gentle guidance just as much as patients. When discussing treatment with a loved one, approach the conversation with compassion, focusing entirely on their emotional well-being rather than their food intake. To support them during the treatment process, create a neutral environment at home and celebrate the small victories they achieve during their programming. Supporting someone in recovery can be emotionally taxing, so caregivers must prioritize taking care of themselves by seeking out their own support systems to recharge their energy while a loved one is in treatment.

Payment and Insurance Information

Programs of this nature are often covered by standard insurance carriers, and we accept most major insurances. Once we gather your information, we will call your insurance company and get a full benefits summary, which includes exactly what they will cover, what they will not, and if any specific documentation is required. We handle all billing and insurance correspondence, so you do not have to worry about the logistics. You will not be required to submit any clinical documentation yourself; that is all handled completely in-house to ensure there is as little red-tape as possible.

There are cases in which insurance does not cover the full amount. If this is the case, we will inform you immediately prior to admission, and we can offer you different options for paying for treatment, including flexible payment plans.

Please note that we do not accept Medi-Cal at this time.
